Welcome to Passport Seva

The Passport Seva Project (PSP) is a digital initiative by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, designed to make passport-related services fully online and accessible. Through this portal, citizens can apply for a new passport, book PSK appointments, track application status in real time, and use services like Police Clearance Certificates — all without repeated office visits.

Passport Seva Registration

Create an account on the portal before applying for any service.

  1. Visit passportindia.gov.in and click Register.
  2. Select your Passport Office. For Diplomatic / Official passports, choose CPV Delhi.
  3. Enter your full name and email ID. Select Yes to use the email as your Login ID.
  4. Set a password and click Sign Up.
  5. Enter the OTP sent to your email and click Complete Sign Up.

How to Apply for a Fresh Passport

Have your documents scanned and ready before starting the application.

  1. Log in at passportindia.gov.in.
  2. Go to Services → Apply for Fresh Passport / Re-issue of Passport.
  3. Choose Fresh Passport, scheme Normal, and booklet size — 36 or 60 pages.
  4. Fill in your personal details: name, gender, date of birth, place of birth, marital status.
  5. Enter family details, residential address, and select the nearest police station.
  6. Add emergency contact details and complete the applicant questionnaire.
  7. Upload Proof of Birth (PAN / Marksheet) and Proof of Address (Aadhaar / Ration Card).
  8. Review, tick the Declaration checkbox, and click Submit.
  9. Pay the fee online, book a PSK appointment, and carry the receipt on the day.

Always carry original documents along with self-attested photocopies on the day of your PSK appointment. Missing originals may result in application rejection.

Track Application Status

Check your application status at any time — no login required.

  1. Go to passportindia.gov.inQuick Links → Track Passport Application.
  2. Select the Application Type (Passport, PCC, RTI, etc.).
  3. Enter your File Number and Date of Birth.
  4. Click Track Application Status to see the current stage.

Check Appointment Availability

Before booking your visit, confirm slot availability at your nearest PSK.

  1. Go to Quick Links → Check Appointment Availability.
  2. Select your Passport Office and preferred PSK centre.
  3. Click Check Availability to see dates, time slots, and types.

Frequently Asked Questions

Apply for a Passport Re-issue via the portal. It is not advisable to travel on a passport with your previous name, as it can cause immigration issues.

Apply for a Passport Re-issue and update your address in the form. Use the Documents Advisor on the portal to confirm required documents.

File a complaint at the nearest Police Station and notify the Passport Office immediately. Then apply for a Passport Re-issue on the portal.
